OPG- Panoramic Scanning Dental X-Ray

Dental X-Rays include the OPG (Orthopantomogram) and Cephalogram. A cephalogram is an x-ray of the face structures, whereas an OPG produces a panoramic image of the jaw. A medial cephalogram is a main picture image of the face, jaws, and soft tissues that is used to analyse the relationship between the teeth and the jaws, the jaws as well as the skull, and the soft tissues and the teeth and jaws.

The images are created using a specialised x-ray equipment. During an OPG examination, a piece of equipment will circle around the patient's head while the patient remains steady, standing or sitting.
