"In Screening Mammograms, two or more x-ray photographs, or images, of each breast are typically employed." An X-ray image of your breasts is called a mammogram. It can be used for breast cancer screening or diagnosis, such as to look into symptoms or odd findings on another imaging test.

Your breasts are squeezed between two firm surfaces during a mammography to spread out the breast tissue. Then, using an X-ray, black-and-white images are captured and analysed on a computer screen for signs of malignancy.
